Neosho Newton County Library Announces New Library Director

Neosho, Mo. – The Board of Directors of the Neosho Newton County Library are pleased to announce the hiring of Carrie Cline as the new Library Director. Cline replaces Ginny Ray, who retired as Library Director at the end of August.
           Ms. Cline most recently worked at the McDonald County Library in Pineville, Mo., where she served as the Library Director from 2001 to the present. Prior to that, she was the Library Director at the Wright County Library from 1997 until 2001. Her 19-year career also included stints as a school librarian at Dade Christian School and at Maries R-I School. Her library career began as a part-time employee at the Neosho Newton County Library when then-director Jack Wood hired her as a high school junior.
          Carrie is a native of Neosho and a graduate of Neosho High School. She holds an associate’s degree from Crowder College, Neosho, and a bachelor of arts in English and Library Science from The School of the Ozarks, Point Lookout, Mo.
          Ms. Cline has served in a variety of capacities with the statewide Missouri Public Library Directors, the Missouri Library Association and the Missouri Association of School Librarians. She is a member of the Association of Rural and Small Libraries, the McDonald County Coalition and the McDonald County Chamber of Commerce Board of Trustees.
          Cline will assume her new duties Nov. 2.
          The mission of the Neosho/Newton County Library is to maintain and improve the quality of life for all citizens in Newton County, Mo., by providing access to materials, resources and technology that contributes to the knowledge, enrichment and enjoyment of the community.
