Save the date!

On June 5 we are having our grand opening event for Summer Reading from 10 to 2.  Save the date because we are going to have lots of fun.

Library Champions

I was on my way home from the Ray Family Reunion recently and noticed a Library Champion sign in someone's yard as my son and I drove by.  I was very excited!

It's wonderful to see kids who are proud of being readers and parents who are proud of their children for reading.  I am very proud of those kids and their parents.

Good job!

From the Director

Summer Reading Program is in full swing.  Yesterday children made pizza box art.  The library was pretty noisy for awhile, but the kids really enjoyed making abstract art using pizza boxes, paint and marbles.  Mazzio's and Cheezies provided the pizza boxes, which we appreciate.

We Shall Remain

We just finished an entertaining and informative series of programs on Native American culture.  It was a pleasure seeing so many people enjoying and supporting these programs.

From the Director

Toni Morrison explores slavery in Colonial America in her latest novel, A Mercy.  She explores multiple points of view reflecting not only African slavery, but indentured servitude and the subjugation of Native Americans.  She also explores religious intolerance, class struggle and, as always, the female condition.  Highly recommended.
